Setzkasten KUBUS is a mobile art space, social sculpture, and experimental venue. For Parque del Sol the empty frame becomes a listening hub for multichannel pieces, workshop lab, performance stage and is a habitat that opens an experimental dialogue with its surroundings.
Matchbox camera workshop – We will construct pinhole cameras out of matchboxes, please bring your own color negative 35mm film (unexposed)! The photographs taken with a matchbox camera has a very soft and unique quality. The process of making it and shooting with it gives way for imperfections and chance, which sometimes lead to most exciting images. This workshop will be taught by Marija Jociūtė
Rundfunk – This Soundinstallation uses a custom-built multichannel radio transmitter to broadcast audio to a network of old radios. Sound moves from one radio to the next, creating a spatial soundscape and a continuously shifting auditory experience. Introduction & Concert by David Pridal
The Sound of Paella | Oliver Deutsch, Ulla Rauter, Stefan Voglsinger
Cooking as a collective sound performance: the cooking of a paella is amplified and musically interpreted with the help of microphones and electronic effects devices. In the laboratory “The Making of the Sound of Paella”, the instruments, microphones, electronic circuits and effects will be built, tested and rehearsed together in an open working session. At the subsequent evening concert performance, the paella is prepared and the live soundtrack is brought to the stage as a sound performance. Video: https://vimeo.com/941723262
Hylut is a solo project by Lithuanian artist and musician Marija Jociūtė. Through processes of deconstruction, manipulation, and recontextualization of various types of data and sound sources, she explores the potential of auditory and narrative story telling. Hylut weaves together sounds of synthesizers, pulses of rhythm machines, digital elements as well as her own voice to create organically morphing sound compositions.
Transceiver Live Set | Aras L. Seyhan, Stefan Voglsinger
Transceiver is designed as a quadraphonic piece for two turntables. For the recordings, Aras L. Seyhan and Stefan Voglsinger went to various places and non-places in Vienna and the surrounding area. The release aims to encourage gathering, experimentation, and collective listening, reflecting the evolution of communication over distance. On Sunday they will perform a live set at the „Soundpicknick“ with vinyls and the resonators.
