Setzkasten KUBUS is a mobile art space, social sculpture and experimental venue. For the 10th anniversary of our art collective Setzkasten Wien we adopted portable container frames: they serve as an extended space that brings side specific performances, interdisciplinary residencies and discourse from our base in Vienna to various locations worldwide. 2025 we transform the KUBUS into a trans-disciplinary tower. Two 10 feet container frames are stacked on top of each other. On the lower level we present workshops, performances and experimental quadraphonic concerts. On the upper cube mesmerizing 360 laser projections will evolve over time in the course of the festival.

KUBUS TOWER is a site-specific project that is open to collaboration with other spaces, people and initiatives on site. Previously this modular format served as an organic architectural art piece. Once we fill the empty frame it transforms into: KUBUS Obscura (life size instant camera), KUBUS Base (workshop lab), KUBUS Stage (performance stage), KUBUS Klub (a venue from outer space) and becomes a habitat that opens an experimental dialogue with its surroundings.

Tower Size – 2 stacked Container Frames: L x W x H – 2.44m x 2.44 x 5.76m Total
The Tower will be secured with tension belts to each side with ground hooks. 4 Speakers are attached on each Corner of the KUBUS for a quadraphonic sound setup, 2 passive and 1 active Sub Woover + 2x QSC 10.2 active Monitors, Soundcraft UI24 Mixer with Stage Boxes.
