Artist in Residence: Noisio

Steffen Koritsch alias noisio is an artist, musician, electronics engineer and programmer based in Dresden Neustadt, Germany. There he runs a studio and his workshop. The name noisio is label for a series of self-developed synthesizer kits and is composed of Noise, the noise with its fast sequence of unpredictable states, and I/O = Input and Output. He is a founding member of metaknoten Kollektiv, a network of international artists, musicians, programmers, engineers and event organizers. Together with Alvin Weber he organizes Workshops and Festivals like DIWO Week and Circuit Control Festival in Dresden.

He is part of various projects and has realized exhibitions and commissions for museums, ensembles, musicians and artists. His field of work includes:

  • workshops, lectures, concerts
  • design and realisation of sound & light installations
  • audio + visual coding (Processing, Pure Data, Max/MSP/Jitter)
  • microcontroller programming + implementation
  • circuit and PCB-design
  • individual unit to small series development and manufacture
  • hacking/ modding/ repair (#fixed) of amplifiers & effects units

During his residency at Setzkasten Wien he will focus on the development of his newest inventions and host a workshop together with artist and musician Jena Jang in the frame of Wow! Signal Festival 2026.
